In memory of those killed in Odessa Massacre on May 2, 2014

Three years ago, on May 2, 2014 pro-Kiev ultra-nationalists blocked anti-government protesters in Odessa’s  Trade Unions House and set the building on fire by hurling Molotov cocktails inside. Most of the demonstrators were burned alive, others were stoned and gunned to death by the crowd outside while trying to escape from the burning building.

According to the official report 48 people were killed, over 100 injured but the actual numbers of killed and injured were  likely muchhigher.

The Russian community in Toronto hold an event Scarlet Sails of Odessa to commemorate those killed in clashes in Odessa.
