Candle of Memory, June 21, 2018

DAY OF MEMORY AND GRIEF – FIRST DAY OF THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR.
The Association of Veterans of the Great Patriotic War in Canada, as well as a number of organizations and enthusiasts, held a “Candle of Memory” event at the Memorial of Glory, located on the Slavic Farm. On June 22, 1941 the USSR was invaded and later attacked by Nazi SS Army and the Great Patriotic War against fascism had begun. The “Candle of Memory” event starts at the same time as it starts in Moscow, consigning with the time of the invasion, 4 am on June 22. According to Eastern American time it would be 9 pm on June 21 for Eastern Canada.
