On February 22, 2015 the Russian community in Toronto celebrated the Defender of the Fatherland Day and the anniversary of lifting the siege of Leningrad at a charity lunch hosted by Crystal Grand Banquet Hall.
The event was organized for the veterans of the World War II residing in Toronto area. The lunch was accompanied by a musical program “Songs in the Flames of War…”
All the money collected at this charitable event will be donated to the project of the monument to the victims of fascism in Toronto and the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the WWII.
This event was organized with the assistance of the members of the Russian Youth Theatre and the Russian school at St. Trinity Church, ad hoc Committee of the Russian Congress of Canada and the organizing Committee for the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Victory in WWII in Canada, as well as its sponsor Crystal Grand Banquet Hall.
During this event the Russian Congress of Canada made a charitable donation to the Canadian Association of World War Veterans from the Soviet Union.
We express our gratitude to all participants of this event, whose efforts have made this charity lunch possible.
